School Profile                                     

Independence High School and Wasco Union High School make up the Wasco Union High School District.  Both schools are located in the Northwest corner of Kern County approximately 25 miles north of Bakersfield, California.  Wasco is a small rural agriculturally based town typical of the San Joaquin Valley.

Independence High School is a continuation school focused on helping students who are struggling to graduate and/or pass the CAHSEE.  With a total enrollment of 200 students benefits from smaller class sizes and more one on one attention from teachers.
